Start Time & Staging
The race will begin at 8:00 a.m. for both the 5K and the 10K. It will be a chip start, which means that timing starts immediately after a participant crosses the starting mat.

We encourage runners/walkers to make their way to the start line around 7:15 a.m. so you may hear pre-race announcements, opening words from the mayor, and our national anthem.

For those who are looking to register on race day, please allow additional time for registration. Our booths will be open to the public at 6:00 a.m.

Future Marathoners

This is an estimated start time of 9:30 a.m. We ask parents to take their children to the finish line where we will have designated volunteers directing the children on where to start.

Every child participating in the Kids’ Run will receive a prize for crossing the finish line!!

Qualifying Schools
Net proceeds from the event are donated to “Qualifying Schools”. In order to qualify, a school must be within the city limits of Walnut Creek, must have a minimum of 25 participants (students, parents, teachers, other relatives or friends), registered and paid to walk/run the event. Volunteers will also count toward a school’s participant number.

Aid Station
The water station will be located on the corner of Newell Avenue and S. Broadway next to Whole Foods Market. It will be available when running southbound toward the turnaround and northbound before turning onto Newell Avenue. We would like to thank Republic Waste Services for supplying this year’s water supplies.
